Because of the crazy weather we had this week, and so many people could not make it in, our TGIF this week will be the the  2021 La Encantada Pinot Noir.  Regularly $50, TGIF=$30.  Let me know if you want to pick up, stash, or ship with your February wine club.

The new-release wines are as follows:

2022 Lafond Vineyard Chardonnay (we have not released a Lafond Chardonnay since 2017!)
2021 Lafond Vineyard Pinot Noir
2021 Adobe Canyon Vineyard Tempranillo

I sure hope you have all enjoyed your holidays/time off this week.   For the last TGIF of the year, we are going to repeat the Member Choice option.

Everything in the tasting room will be our TGIF price, $30/bottle.  **There are two exceptions; The 2021 La Encantada Pinot Noir and our Sparkling Wine will not be on TGIF**. If you are a shipping customer, here are some examples of wine that is available.  Many of these wines are running quite low, so this is a first come first serve situation.  Let me know if you would like to pick up, stash, or ship.

It sure is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  This week for TGIF it is Member Choice for our current release wines. If you are a local customer, whatever we have in the tasting will be our TGIF price,  $30/bottle.  If you are a shipping customer, just ask.

We are just loving this week. Joey is wrapping up the 2023 harvest, our daughter is home from college, our son is spending his days surfing at Jalama, the nights are filled with all kinds of kids sharing their stories and devouring our pantry, and some of our favorite out-of-town friends have once again blessed us with their good cheer.

Although we will be closed on Thursday and Friday to immerse ourselves in bountiful gratefulness, we are excited for our annual "Let us Entertain the Family" on Wednesday. Please stop by the tasting room on Wednesday from 2-7 and enjoy some wine with us. We will have case and bottle specials galore. It's too good to put in writing!!!

We did it!  Harvest was a high-speed six weeks this year, from October 3rd to November 14th and we brought in a little over 90 tons of grapes.  The theme of this year was definitely consistency, the fruit came in almost daily and the chemistries were nearly spot-on every day.  Harvest 2023 is in the books, but the vintage is just starting its journey.

• I am making another order for apparel, if you would like to request a particular size or style, please email me ASAP.

• After Thanksgiving, we will start shipping both holiday and corporate gifts.  Send us your list and we will do the rest.

• We are happy to host your holiday/end-of-year parties.  There is no rental fee for wine club members, we just charge by the glass.  Message me to book a private night or afternoon in the tasting room.

• Especially this time of year, if you would like to book the big table in the tasting room, please contact Tina or myself for reservations.

Next Wednesday is our annual "We Host the Family" in the tasting room.  Bring your out-of-town guests and we will do the entertaining.  You can even drop them off (like adult daycare) and we will take good care of them.

They say that Pinot Noir pairs perfectly with Turkey. Now that it is November, it is an appropriate time to stock up on some Pinot for your Thanksgiving feast. This week, our TGIF will be the 2021 Pommard Pinot Noir. Regularly $50/bottle, TGIF ($30/bottle) for our beloved wine club members. Let me know if you want to pick up, stash, or ship.

And now for a harvest update. The first three weeks of October were a wild ride. We brought in 75% of our grapes in 12 days. The following varietals were unusually ripe at once: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Grenache Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Blanc, and our Grenache for Rosé. And then, the harvest gods gave us a few days off (which we were grateful for), and this week, we will bring in Sangiovese, Viognier, and more Syrah. I'm pretty sure the last of the fruit will take its sweet time in November, but the fruit continues to look beautiful, and the chemistries have been spot-on!

As another harvest season comes to life, we find ourselves immersed in the same exhilaration and anticipation that have been the driving forces behind our winery for decades. Each harvest represents a chapter in the story of our winery and is a journey we eagerly undertake. When we reflect on past vintages, we are transported back to the moments and memories that make each one unique. We remember the life events unfolding, the age of our children, the team members who have stood by our side, our treasured wine club family, and especially the whims of the weather, all equally etched into our memories from one vintage to the next.
 
As a result, each harvest is a snapshot in time that tells a story of that year's growing conditions and our winemaking decisions. For wine enthusiasts, this makes each vintage special, as they can explore how the exact wine from the same winery can vary from year to year. This dynamic comparison makes wine fascinating and allows connoisseurs to appreciate the complexity and nuance of the world of wine.
 
We know that the 2023 vintage will be distinctively etched into our minds. The word that describes it most accurately is "relentless." Regardless of the unprecedented and unparalleled events in the last few weeks, the 2023 vintage may be one of our best. These relentless grapes have come in picture-perfect and pristine with near-perfect chemistries (sugar, acid, pH). 
 
We are grateful to have you as part of our wine club family. Thank you for your continued support and sharing in our journey, one glass of wine at a time.

Hello Friends,

Your harvest crew is hard at work destemming and pressing the 2023 Vintage. The vintage is looking fantastic. Harvest was certainly late this year. We started bringing in grapes on Tuesday, October 3rd. By the end of this week, we will bring in almost 40 tons of fruit. That is half of our harvest in less than two weeks!!!

I know you are all cheering us on in solidarity, and we thank you!! We are also getting wine club ready, and if you want to "make it a case" with some TGIF wines, we have some great options for you.
