Earlier in the week we thought we had to close on Saturday, but it turns out we will be open!
This weekend we drive our daughter, Taylor, out to Arizona to start her college career. This time is so bitter/sweet for us. Thankfully our goals were aligned. As much as we pushed her to be college-ready, she also pushed herself, and now she has a huge opportunity ahead of her. Taylor is one of my very best friends; she is up for any adventure and is the kindest and brightest light in our house. I am so proud of her, but my heart hurts for the void that this will leave in our home. I am sure all of you "empty-nesters" can relate, and I am open to all of your advice. Keep Taylor in your thoughts, your good wishes and prayers are very much appreciated.

This week we have both a TGIF special and a library special. Our library special is the 2010 Zotovich Chardonnay for $50/bottle. Our TGIF special is the 2019 Zotoivch Chardonnay for $25/bottle. Both wines come from the same section in the vineyard and were made in the same style (Stainless steel fermented and aged). The 2010 is a beautiful example of aged Chardonnay that still holds its crisp palate and vibrant fruit. Tasting the two wines side by side is a great experience and will encourage you to cellar the 2019 for a few years. Let me know if you would like to pick-up, stash or ship.

Our TGIF this week will be the 2019 La Pareja. In Spanish, La Pareja means "the couple." This wine is a balanced blend of both Grenache and Syrah from Thompson Vineyard in Alisos Canyon, $25/bottle. The picture below is a throwback from the first Christmas Joey, and I spent together in 2000. Let me know if you would like to pick up, stash or ship.
Also, we have a few cases left of our 2018 Evans Ranch Chardonnay. This wine will also be on our TGIF special for $25/bottle or $250/case.
We will be closed on Sunday to celebrate Fathers Day. And, this "birthing person" is really looking forward to finding out the new branding campaign for Dads!!

Lafond Vineyard is very dear to Joey and me. Not only did our first barrel of wine that we ever made came from Lafond Vineyard, but we also got married there 17 years ago this month. Congratulations to Santa Barbara County; we are officially in the Orange Tier, which means more businesses can accept more patrons with fewer restrictions. So many small businesses have had to navigate not only COVID but also the weather. Entering the Orange Tier is a huge win and will be the start of our economy turning around.

Not just any Syrah though, I love our La Paloma Syrah. Some years we can't put it on our TGIF list because it sells out so fast but you are all in luck! We are just 11 days away from Daylight Savings!! My favorite time of year!
This week's TGIF is our 2019 G Street Pinot, $25/bottle; let me know if you would like to pick up, stash or ship. The G Street is from Lafond Vineyard and is a blend of three different clones. These old vines were grown in deep clay loam soil, which gives this wine a full body, and the blended clones create a very balanced expression.
This town lost a beautiful and kind soul, way too early, last week. Our hearts are broken, and we are devastated for the Shell family. Although there is nothing to take away the pain, we are here to support this beautiful family in any way that we can. We made a special label for the family for the celebration of life event, and so many of the guests wanted to have one for themselves.
