Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!  I have so many reasons to be thankful.  First, thank you for buying wine during a pandemic.  Thank you for sitting on our deck during 100 plus degree weather while a cold tasting room sits empty.  Thank you for sitting outside while ash pours down on you and the air quality completely sucks.  Thank you for supporting local and keeping our economy going here in Lompoc.  Thank you for all the outpouring of love and support when we lost Joey's stepbrother this summer.  If it weren't for all your positivity these past seven months, I would not be able to hold on to my positivity.

We have a new wine to share with you for TGIF this weekend.  This is our 2018 Cork Tree Vineyard Syrah.  We made this wine to service a large restaurant account in Los Angeles but as you know that side of our business is currently non-operational.  Lucky you though, another Covid silver lining! $25/bottle. As you know, masks are not required while dining or sipping wine and I realize this may make some of you uncomfortable about tasting on our deck. If you would like to come in before we open, we would be happy to set up a private outdoor table for you to enjoy a glass of wine. Just let me know!

Unfortunately, Joey and I will be in Arizona for a funeral this weekend, but I wish you all a wonderful Labor Day.  Syrah pairs perfectly with a day off!

Hello Friends,

I had such a great week!  All of the angst about starting school sort of dissipated and it was such a relief for our entire house.  There is a saying that a momma is only as happy as their saddest child.  This week everything seemed to just work.  I hope you all are in a good place too.

Last night Joey brought home the 2017 La Paloma Syrah that we are releasing next month.  I can hardly describe how amazing this wine was.  For all you Syrah fans out there, you won't be disappointed!

The Dorigo Grenache and the Zotovich Chardonnay will be on TGIF this week and Joey will be in the tasting room on Friday for the last time before harvest.  And yes, our harvest is right around the corner.

Hello Friends,

We just released our 2016 Sparkling, which was made from Chardonnay grapes at Zotovich Vineyard.  We have it in the tasting room by the glass or the bottle.  $55/bottle plus your wine club discount. We are happy to ship as well!

Because Grenache is such a versatile varietal, I was thinking it would pair perfectly with the smokey aromas in our state this week.  LOL!!  TGIF this week is the 2018 Dorigo Grenache and the 2019 Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay.  Please let me know if you would like to pick up, stash, ship, or have free local delivery.

Hello Friends,

Or is it over?  I'm the mom that loves her kids home during the summer.  I love watching them sleep-in all day, eat when they want, hang with friends, beach and pool days, or do absolutely nothing at all.   A COVID silver lining for me is that I got an extra dose of summer this year.  It is such a strange and sad vibe around my house.  Neither of my kids has any excitement about the first day of school, nobody is talking about what they will wear, or hoping who will be in their classes. How can an extra six hours of screen time a day be an option?

Hello Friends,

Over a year ago when we were bottling the 2018 La Pareja, we ran out of labels. So those cases got pushed to the back to deal with another day. That day was today while Joey was prepping the winery for harvest, he uncovered 14 cases of the 2018 La Pareja.

Sooooooo, the 2018 La Pareja will be on our TGIF special this week.  Regularly $40, TGIF=$25. Let me know if you would like to stash, pick up, ship, or receive free local delivery.  

We are still conducting business outdoors, outdoor seating is limited so reservations are recommended but not necessary.

Vivid Financial Management is having a free document shredding event tomorrow (Friday) from 8 am - 3 pm.  511 North H Street, Suite G.  Bring anything you want to shred and they will take care of it for you.  What a great service!!!

The deck is not so bad.  For all those that think the tasting room gets too loud, the deck has been a wonderful sound solution.  We also have plenty of room for social distancing and the weather has been beautiful. Just trying to see the bright side here folks. Reservations are recommended but not necessary and just in case bring a jacket or a cozy blanket.

Hello Friends,

Thank you for being on this roller coaster with us for the last four months.  I realize you can buy wine a million different places, and we are so grateful for every bottle of wine you buy from us.  So many businesses aren't going to make it through Covid. I just want to express our sincere gratitude because we are holding on to this roller coaster and keeping our employees employed because of you!!

As many of you know, we are required to stop all indoor wine drinking for three weeks.  Luckily we have a fantastic deck with some beautiful views and plenty of room to social distance. We have new charcuterie plates available and the deck is a wonderful place to have a glass of wine and relax. Reservations are recommended but not required. We are still doing curbside wine pick up and free local delivery.

Hello Friends,

We will be reopening on Friday!!!  There will be some restrictions but I'm sure you are accustomed to these by now. Because we can't pack the tasting room in our regular TGIF style, I highly recommend that you make a reservation. We will be reserving in 1-hour blocks, if there is nobody waiting, you are welcome to stay but if there is a reservation behind you, I'm sure you will understand.  Also, you are welcome to walk in, just keep in mind, you might have to wait for a spot.  You can make a reservation by replying to this email or calling the tasting room during open hours 805-743-4094. We will also have some new food choices in the tasting room but they are definitely not mandatory to eat...LOL!!!

Hello Friends,

Now you all know how stubborn I am after last week's rant.  I have enjoyed every single one of your responses and some just cracked me right up. Thank you all for your tremendous support and love you have given to us over the last 10 weeks.  I know you would all be happy to buy whatever food I was serving.  Last night, I went to my favorite bar and was not required to buy food.  I have also enjoyed a few restaurants this week and I could buy a glass of wine without food, I can buy food without a glass of wine and I can sit there and buy nothing if I am not hungry or thirsty. So why the discrimination with tasting rooms?  I have no answers that make sense and I won't bore you with the political back story. We are going to wait until phase 3 to open the tasting room, which I am told should be June 15th. 

This week's TGIF special is the 2018 La Pareja (Grenache/Syrah Blend). We are getting down to our last cases so there will be a 6 bottle max and this week will likely be the last time the La Pareja will be on TGIF. Because it is so hot, our 2019 Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay will also be available for TGIF. Let me know if you would like to pick up, stash, ship, or have free local delivery. TGIF=$25/bottle 

For Father's Day, we will have the following special:  If you buy at least three bottles of wine, we will ship to your Dad for free! In fact, we will ship to anyone who has been like a father to you as well as free local delivery.

In an effort to rev up the local economy, curtail tourism which would prevent the spread of Covid, the County has decided that for us to open, we must require customers to buy a meal in addition to a glass of wine. I suggested that we require people to show proof of residency. Still, for reasons beyond my control and understanding, food is the answer. Again, eating a meal is a better way to curtail tourism than requiring proof of local residency. Economically, emotionally, and mentally I need to open. Intellectually and ethically, I can’t force my dear customers to do something that literally makes no sense to me.  Someday, the Covid documentary will be released, and all of this craziness will be revealed.  In the meantime, Transcendence will wait until we can open without mandating grown-ass adults to eat food.

For wine club members, our TGIF specials ($25/bottle)  this week are the 2019 Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay and the 2018 Dorigo Vineyard Grenache.  Let me know if you would like to pick up, stash, ship, or enjoy free local delivery.

Hello Friends,

First and foremost, thank you for loyal support during this closure.  Our wine club has quite literally kept us going and we appreciate the heck out of your guys!!!  THANK YOU!!

Our County had a significant COVID update with regards to opening.  Restaurants can now open for in-house dining with precautions and social distancing.  Unfortunately, wineries and tasting rooms can't open unless they can serve a "bonafide" meal.  This puts Lompoc particularly at a disadvantage since we have historically struggled with the City to allow us to serve food.  We will be working with the city and some local food trucks to see if we can team up and provide said bonafide meal.  Unfortunately, this won't happen this weekend.

We are excited to release our 2019 Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay at for TGIF this weekend. Regularly $36/bottle, TGIF=$25.  Let me know if you would like to pick up, stash, ship, or have free local delivery. The weather, thankfully, is looking hot and not too much wind here on the central coast. It will be a perfect time for a cold glass of Chardonnay.  For you red only drinkers, we will also have our 2018 Sangiovese from Adobe Canyon available for TGIF as well.

Like many of you, I am missing my Mom this week.  For me, Mother's Day is all about brunch.  Bottomless Mimosas, endless fruit, bacon, omelets, hashbrowns, and desserts.  I will miss brunch this year and especially my momma!
